Devastating Passenger Vehicle Crash in Northeastern Brazil Claims 15 Fatalities

Specifics of the Accident
The vehicle was carrying around 30 passengers when it lost control and slammed into a sandbank, causing it to roll over. How many injured passengers taken to nearby medical facilities is not yet confirmed.
The trip originated in the region of Bahia and ended tragically in the city of Saloá, located in the neighbouring area of Pernambuco.
How It Happened
Preliminary information suggest that the driver lost control of the vehicle, crossing into the opposite lane and hitting boulders on the roadside. Subsequently, the driver returned to the proper lane but then collided with a sand embankment, causing the bus to flip over.
The reason behind the accident is currently under investigation. The operator sustained light wounds and tested negative for alcohol consumption.

A regional official expressed that the administration is providing assistance for rescue efforts and victim identification. They remarked, "We are closely monitoring the incident and sincerely regret the fatalities, the injuries and the pain of all the affected families."

Last September, a vehicle carrying a football team flipped on a road, causing three deaths.
